The Firematic Officers are the membership elected personnel that oversee the equipment and members when the 911 call is received and the fire alarm is sounded.  This hierarchy begins with the Lieutenants, then Captains, Assistant Chiefs with the Fire Chief being the highest rank.  This progression thru the ranks takes many years to accomplish and requires hundreds of hours of additional training.  These officers are some of the first personnel on the emergency scene and rapidly develop plans of action to stabilize the incident.  This could include ensuring that all injured people are treated; your home is safe after an alarm or directing crews at a fire scene.  Additionally, the firematic officers develop and provide training to the membership, sit on various local planning committees and conduct weekly equipment checks of all the emergency response equipment.
