Subject: Notice from St. Peter's Health Partners: SPHP Testing First Responders for Coronavirus

Good afternoon,
I am the Public Information Officer for St. Peter's Health Partners' (SPHP) COVID-19 Incident Command Center. You are receiving this communication because you have been identified as a lead contact for emergency management services in your respective county.
SPHP has more than 12,000 employees in more than 170 locations and provides a comprehensive continuum of integrated health care, supportive housing and community services. Services include, but are not limited to, acute inpatient care at four hospital locations, nursing home and rehabilitation, home care, hospice, PACE program, senior living, enriched housing, Alzheimer day program services, and the regions' largest outpatient multi-specialty physician group with more than 530 physicians and advanced practitioners in more than 90 practice locations.
I am reaching out to you as a fellow member of the front line of individuals and agencies fighting COVID-19 in our communities. As you are likely aware, there is a shortage of testing supplies across the nation, as well as here in the Capital Region. We recently made the very difficult decision to suspend community-based testing in order to conserve supplies for testing health care workers and inpatients in our hospitals.
Effective immediately , we are offering COVID-19 testing for symptomatic individuals who are currently on active duty providing police, fire, EMT, and/or other emergency services to the Capital Region. This decision was made in order to help first responders carry out their vital mission in our community.
We ask that you please review the attachment for details and share it with the first responder agencies in your respective counties.
Thank you for your continued support of SPHP and our mission to our patients and community, and thank you for your commitment to the people and patients of New York state. If you have any questions, please reach out to me via email or the phone numbers below.
Be well,
Bob Webster
