<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1in"><b><span style="font-family:'arial' , sans-serif">Effective the close of business today, all training at the New York State Fire Academy is being suspended. Students currently at the Academy are being sent home.
This suspension will remain in place for the next two weeks, tentatively ending Sunday April 5th.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1in"><b><span style="font-family:'arial' , sans-serif">The suspension for field based state fire training previously announced in my email of March 16<sup>th</sup>, is being extended to Sunday April 5th.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1in"><b><span style="font-family:'arial' , sans-serif"> </span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1in"><b><span style="font-family:'arial' , sans-serif">The Office of Fire Prevention and Control will continue to assess the situation and determine whether the suspensions will expire or be extended.</span></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1in"><b><span style="font-family:'arial' , sans-serif"> Counties that have requested training to be suspended for a longer period will have those requests honored.</span></b></p>
