Good Morning EGFD fellow members,

Just a reminder of our picnic on Saturday, July 12 from 3 to 700pm. I would hope that some of you would enjoy some company story telling and good food. There will be some fun things for everyone who wants to participate....

Please, please, spread the word onto other members that include our retired social, honorary and auxillary members. It would be greatly appreciated if you are coming to just reply to this email with how many. I am planning on getting the majority of the food on Friday, and some of the last minute things on Saturday...so if decide to come on Saturday...that's fine but still would like to know.

Now work detail.

What I understand is the only things that have to be done is sweeping up the Pavillion, getting the power and water running, getting the refridgerator going and the rest room presentable and usable. How much gas do we need for the grill?

Food?
Salads are the question and I know some ladies from the auxillary were willing to help. Whoever is available to come down the firehouse on Friday afternoon, 4 pm and on to help will be appreciated. I'll have ingredients for potato  and macaroni salads....veggies and fruit. We have men that have  stepped up saying they will grill on Saturday...thank you...I will not commit you yet, but you know who you are.

Recreation?
Rick Giaminelli is donating a bouncy house for the kids. I thought maybe horseshoes, wiffle ball, and something with water with the hoses. (Chiefs, you lucked out this year, no dunk tank) My theme was to be sports balls...thus the title, "Will it Bounce?"....I'm open to any other ideas.

I'll be honest folks, I was going to cancel the whole thing when I saw only 3 families signed up on Monday. However, through the encouragement of some folks and much prayer, I decided to go ahead with the picnic on Wednesday. I know it's all short notice for somethings, but it's not like people didn't know about it. We'll just have some $$ to use for another social event may in August. The weeks and months just seem to fly by us.....

Any questions...comments..ideas..call or email me. Criticism...contructive I'll listen and learn, just come to me and not behind my back.  I have found, many times the impromptu events come out to be the most enjoyable. No expectations accept good company, fun attitudes, and good food to share.

Hope to see you on Saturday.... (Friday if you can help).
Bev
