Please see the information below concerning training at the NYS Fire Academy. Also, we in Schenectady County have suspended training until further notice. We will advise when this has been lifted.

Good Afternoon, 



Effective the close of business today, all training at the New York State Fire Academy is being suspended. Students currently at the Academy are being sent home. This suspension will remain in place for the next two weeks, tentatively ending Sunday April 5th. 



The suspension for field based state fire training previously announced in my email of March 16 th , is being extended to Sunday April 5th. 



The Office of Fire Prevention and Control will continue to assess the situation and determine whether the suspensions will expire or be extended. 



Counties that have requested training to be suspended for a longer period will have those requests honored.
